What a way to wake up
about 5 years ago – Thu, Apr 04, 2019 at 10:21:01 PM

Woke up this morning to see we flew by the 20k mark, wow - I can only think of a few other ways to bring a smile to my face first thing in the morning!  Huge thanks to everyone for making this possible.

I also wanted to let everyone know that at 7:30 pm CST tonight we will be live here on Kickstarter with our paints.  After beating my head against a wall with editing footage, re shooting scenes and trying to keep things in focus I think this is the best way to show the paint off.  The video will be up for 48 hours after the stream so if you can't stop in when we are live don't worry!  You'll still be able to view the video.

I plan on showing some metallic paints in action tonight as well as the washes and some of the bright vibrant colors!  check us out!

Live Stream aftermath

Thanks to everyone that tuned in for the live stream.  If you missed it, you will be able to view it for 48 hours still.  We showed several colors in action as well as some washes.  If you have a specific color you would like to see comment and let us know!  Kickstarter will be closing all kickstarter live streams on april 8th so we still have a few days.  I'm more than happy to do more streams for everyone.

I've posted some of the photos from the stream below.

Lots of news!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Apr 03, 2019 at 12:45:32 AM

Hey everyone!  been a while since we posted an update and that's with good reason.  We've signed up with Backerkit for our post campaign manager, which we touched on previously.  But, Backerkit is featuring us in their newsletter that they are sending out tomorrow!  This means a lot to us here, we've said it before; we're the small guys.  So when something like this happens it shows us that even the little guys can get a win.

Pledges:  We've discussed how we are going to handle the volume of orders and backers we have received so far, our goal was to ship in July - and that is still going to happen.  However, We are going to also add a wave 2 shipping pledge that will ship in late August / early September.  We think this is the best way to meet the demand and get everyone the quality product quickly.  If you have backed our campaign so far - you are already in the wave 1 shipping and this won't affect you receiving your Cuttlefish Colors paints.

Stretch Goals:  I've spent the last few days working on additional stretch goals only to be met with a wall each and every time.  At this time there are additional colors but they will not be ready by the time the campaign ends.  I've been looking into a paint rack system - but costs are a concern with these, as well as I want the stretch goals to add value to your pledges, not increase the dollars spent.  At this time I think the best course of action is to not reach and just keep throwing things on top of the pledges, but to focus on the production on the paint line.  We have 7 days left, and these last 7 days are critical to us.  We are so close to hitting another milestone at $20,000.

Marketing:  I've been asked by many people both local and not about our marketing.  I purposely didn't do any paid marketing ads for this campaign.  I wanted to succeed on not only our sharing the campaign but you sharing it as well.  However, we will be posting a facebook add as the campaign draws to a close to help bring in those who may not of seen our paint range yet.

Friends kickstarters:  Some of you may have noticed we have linked to Monk's Miniatures kickstarter on the main page.  I firmly believe in supporting people who are trying to make it in any business.  I've talked with Monk and believe in what he is doing - I don't have the talent for 3D modelling but he does!  If you can, check out his Kickstarter.

Add-ons for the post campaign manager:  Many of you have asked about purchasing  individual bottles of paint, and I've heard you.  We are working on this right now and want to be able to offer a good value.  We are thinking of building sets of colors for the post campaign add-ons.  For instance, a family of blue paint 3-4 bottles for $X.  Any and all feedback on this would be appreciated.  Would you rather see single bottles or smaller bundles?

Lastly - Video's of the paint and washes in action.  We have filmed these videos - and I'll be honest they look better than I expected.  I'm not great at this, my talents are in painting.  We will have these video's posted up in the next day or two on our facebook page as well as here on Kickstarter.

We're always evolving and growing, without the support every one of you has shown us we wouldn't be where we are so we can't thank you enough.  Questions are always welcome and I will do my best to get answers to you as quick as possible.  We'll be keeping a close on on the campaign for the last week and hope to see everyone at the finish line.

Smashing those stretch goals!
about 5 years ago – Fri, Mar 29, 2019 at 12:02:26 AM

Wow, 18k stretch goal is smashed!  A big thank you to everyone for pushing this far.  We are working on some video's currently showing the paints in action as well as the washes in action.  We hope to have these up by this weekend.  We have also added the 18k stretch goal colors to the main campaign page as well as down below.

This weekend we will also be announcing new stretch goals.  12 days left, we're getting excited and hope you are too!

Just a quickie
about 5 years ago – Thu, Mar 21, 2019 at 06:05:41 PM

Hey everyone!  2nd stretch goal reached!  awesome, can't thank everyone enough!  You are really showing us that our dream can be a reality.

I have updated the main campaign page to include the images and info from the previous update - Thanks to those of you reached out!

We have also uploaded the remaining paints in the range images with painted samples.  Please how mercy though - we aren't photographers.

Also, we have secured machinery for production - we realized that our initial goals and ideas were way to small, and that the community was so much bigger than we expected.  With this in mind we knew we needed to ensure we could meet the demands of the campaigns success.

Again, thanks to each and every one of you.  We appreciate all your support and encouragement.  Any questions we will do our best to answer them.

Yours,

Ryan
